State Workshop on "State Campaign on Homoeopathy for Mother & Child Care "

With a special focus on health status of women & children, various initiatives had  been taken by the govt of India . National Health Policy 2002 acknowledge the role of AYUSH ( Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy )systems in the health scenario of the country. The National Rural Health Mission also advocated mainstreaming of AYUSH systems of medicines in the health sector of the country.

Homeopathy has been chosen for its role in Mother & Child Care . There are many areas where Homeopathy has potential role & can deliver its services for promotion of Mother & Child Health Care.

With this aim , AYUSH, ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India has entrusted to state governments to coordinate the programme of State Campaign on Homeopathy for mother & Child Care. On 17th & 18th march 2008 a two days State Workshop on "Homoeopathy for Healthy Mother & Happy Child " was conducted at Scientific Convention Center of Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Medical University , Lucknow.

Research centres for homoeopathic colleges mooted

Lucknow-19th march 2008: Homoeopathy needs to be further developed by establishing research centres in homoeopathic colleges. Since homoeopathy has no side effects, it is very useful in treatment of chronic diseases and also curing children of common ailments.
These views were expressed by chief secretary PK Mishra while speaking at the two-day state-level workshop on ‘Homoeopathy for healthy mother and happy child’, which concluded here on Tuesday. He said that homoeopathic indoor and outdoor treatment should be made available in the allopathic hospitals in the state. In her address vice-chancellor of CSM Medical University, Lucknow Prof S Chooramani Gopal said that homoeopathy was the most useful and the safest system of medicine. She said that she would be proud if homeopathy degree was affiliated with the CSM Medical University.
   Addressing the concluding session of the workshop, Dr BD Patel, former head of Government Homoepathic Medical College, Bangalore delivered a lecture on diseases during pregnancy and their treatment. He said that homoepathic medicines proved very effective in treating various diseases during pregnancy and that too without any side effects. Dr Girish Gupta, in his lecture on ‘Role of homoeopathy in mother and child care’, presented statistics on treatment of ovarian cyst, naebothian cyst, mumps and infection of respiratory track by homoepathic medicines.
